Dirty Kanza 200 Profile
Bored to tears on a Sunday night, I started playing around with my mapping/profile program. I tried to follow the basic floorplan for the Dirty Kanza 200. These are not your typical gravel roads. I seriously doubt that a cross bike with 35 cross tires would make it. Someone will mostly likely try to prove me wrong, but I'll go out on a limb and say the bike may make it; but the rider will not make it on a cross bike.
My results.
THIS IS NOT THE EXACT ROUTE. I do not know the exact route. This is me playing around killing time. I took too many zig-zags and come up with too many miles, but you get the idea that it will not be easy. What you cant see from this profile, is all the little bitch climbs. I am talking about the one in the .5 mile to 3 mile variety that are hella steep. Oh yeah, dont forget that the wind will blow in the Flint Hills. It is Kansas duh. Enter at your own risk.
If you enjoy this kind of pain (Dirty Kanza, Trans-Iowa), consider marking your calender in November for The EnduroSnob Epic. Another event rolling out on 300+ miles of dirt and gravel.
